Meet Team Justice

  • Zain Baig - President

My name is Zain Baig, I am a fifth-year BTM Co-op student committed to finding innovative, student-focused ways to elevate the TMU student experience. I founded TMU’s Literary Salon, TMU Basketball Society, and the TMSU Street Team Marketing Project. All of which I built from the ground up by hiring executive teams, managing operations, and ensuring they serve students first.

My leadership style is rooted in Servant Leadership: I believe the role of a president is to uplift others, empower their ideas, and create an environment where every student can grow both personally and professionally.

Through my leadership, I have launched impactful initiatives, including a free marketing and promotion platform for Campus Groups and Course Unions, a free library in the SCC, free drop-in basketball at the MAC Varsity Court, multiple charity fundraisers, and a student-run literature and artwork publishing program.

I also bring professional experience from my Co-op at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, where I managed over $20 million in funds with integrity and led company-wide multicultural initiatives. At TRSM, I have served with the TRSS as a Street Team member, DECA/TRACE Marketing Associate, 2x Commerce Frosh Leader, and hosted a Fireside Chat with Medcan’s Director of Digital Transformation & Innovation for the Ted Rogers Technology Prep Program.

After witnessing the past issues and corruption within the TMSU, I know things have to change. The President must lead with a clear understanding of what students are experiencing daily. This means advocacy for pressing issues like Bill 33 and OSAP cuts, investing in student wellbeing through a napping space, and affordability by creating a job portal that connects students with meaningful employment opportunities.

This vision will be delivered through our 5-step Action Plan. Justice for the TMSU!

  • Teresa Baricevic - VP Education

My name is Teresa Baricevic, and I am a fifth-year Marketing Co-op student committed to applying my leadership experience and stepping into the role of Vice President of Education. My professional background spans both corporate and non-profit sectors, developing a strong foundation in service, advocacy, and community support.

During my time at Haven on the Queensway, I worked closely with low-income families through essential programs such as the food bank, providing fresh produce and other goods and necessities. The closet program, offering free clothing to individuals and families in crisis. I also supported senior engagement programs, prepared hygiene kits, and coordinated food orders for homeless outreach initiatives. I played a key role in ensuring these programs made a meaningful impact.

My leadership style is collaborative, empathetic, and student-focused, shaped by roles as a Co-op Connect Mentor, PR Executive for TMU’s Literary Salon, and Frosh Leader. As a Co-op Connect Mentor, I continue to support new co-op students by helping them navigate career challenges and guiding them throughout their co-op journeys. As a PR Executive, I build engagement through creative programming and communication. As a Frosh Leader, I helped create welcoming spaces and a community for incoming students.

Each of these experiences has equipped me with skills to advance my career growth, personal development, and academic success, and my promise is to do just that for all TMU students. I will advocate for fair academic policies, accessible resources, and opportunities that empower students to succeed.

I look forward to utilizing my role as your VP of Education to amplify student voices, build community, and foster integrity. Together, we can create an environment that is fair, transparent, and supportive while bringing Justice to the TMSU!

  • Megan Morgan - VP Equity

My name is Megan Morgan, and I am an Entrepreneurship major committed to amplifying student voices and promoting equity at TMU. I have been very active at TMU, engaging in student organizations. These organizations work to support minority communities and foster inclusive campus environments.

For example, I am currently a Conference Associate Sponsorship Manager for the Black Business Student Association. In this role, I sustain partnerships and advocate for resources that support our community. This role has developed my commitment to amplifying student voices and promoting equity at TMU.

Additionally, I serve as a Graphic Designer for the Toronto (Met) Entrepreneurship Association. I design accessible content to inspire, showcase student initiatives, and build representation of the diverse identities within our course union.

My participation in these organizations illustrates my dedication to representation, safe spaces, and elevating the experiences of marginalized students. I understand deeply how significant it is to see yourself represented in leadership and campus programming.

As your Vice-President of Equity, I will advocate, listen, and act on behalf of students facing adversity at TMU, including but not limited to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, and disabled communities. I am committed to ensuring every student feels safe, heard, and represented.

I will lead with transparency, intention, and collaboration, working with students to identify gaps and create meaningful solutions. I want to contribute to a campus where equity is not just a principle, but a lived experience.

I will also advocate for students who rely on financial aid, especially as policies like OSAP and Bill 33 impact access to funding and support. Financial accessibility is a key part of equity, and I will work to ensure students navigating financial aid systems feel supported, informed, and represented.

Thank you for considering me for VP of Equity. Justice for the TMSU!

  • Polly Yang - VP Operations

My name is Polly Yang, here’s why I should be your new VP of Operations. As a second-year accounting co-op student, I am held to a high academic and professional standard. Accounting as a profession has always highlighted the importance of transparency, and following rules for financial reporting. This is something that is desperately needed for the TMSU operations.

I am dedicated to increasing transparency and efficiency in the TMSU. TMU undergraduate students deserve more from their student union.

Currently, at my co-op placement, I am getting hands-on experience filing personal and corporate taxes. I maintain a duty of care to my company’s clients who trust me with their sensitive personal information, and more importantly their money! I feel this is a huge sense of responsibility that I take very seriously, and l will carry this sentiment with me as your VP of operations.

Another key improvement I would ensure is TMSU operations with increased efficiency. This will require careful planning and paying attention to areas that could be improved.

For TMU's Literary Salon, where I serve as the finance manager, I also take part in the organization of our events and collaborations. I help ensure that the events are properly staffed and the flow of the events run smoothly.

Leadership roles are not daunting to me, for the non-profit group Swab The World, I have been serving as Co-President. I run a team of fellow volunteers to perform outreach to meet club objectives.

Because of my involvement with student groups, I see first hand how slow process times hurt our community.

A vote for me comes with a proven track record of leadership, accuracy, efficiency, and transparency. Justice for the TMSU!

  • Ahmmad Haidary - VP Student Life & Events

My name is Ahmmad Haidary, and I am a fourth-year Creative Industries. I am committed to bringing my leadership experience, creativity, and passion for student engagement to this position to help build a more connected, inclusive, and vibrant campus community.

Through my work as Creative Director of TMU’s Literary Salon and TMU Basketball Society, I have seen firsthand how meaningful student opportunities to connect can foster belonging, strengthen community, and make campus life more fun. These experiences have shown me the importance of creating spaces where students feel welcomed, represented, and inspired to participate.

A key priority of mine is improving support for student groups and clubs. Student-led initiatives are at the heart of campus life, and they deserve consistent support, accessible funding, and efficient operational systems that help them succeed. I will advocate for smoother and faster grant processes so student leaders can focus on creating meaningful experiences for our communities.

I also want to make it easier for students to discover what is happening on campus by improving the centralization and accessibility of information about events, activities, and opportunities. No student should miss out simply because they are unaware of campus events. In addition, I want to give students opportunities to propose event ideas and vote on initiatives, giving students a stronger voice in shaping campus life.

Student life events and initiatives must reflect the realities students are facing. That means continuing to support conversations and events around urgent issues such as Bill 33 and cuts to OSAP.

I’m ready to work for you, fight for you, and bring events and initiatives that reflect the diversity, creativity, and priorities of our community at TMU. Justice for the TMSU!
