Our 5-step Action Plan

  • OSAP & Bill 33

    Address OSAP:

    * Fight against the OSAP cuts by rallying with students and work with student unions across Ontario.

    * Create and expand more free services and student affordability programs.

    Address Bill 33:

    * Prevent Ford government from meddling in our education and threatening our student union’s autonomy.

    * Fight against over-policing our campus.

    Keep up the fight:

    * Host events and initiatives that allow students to participate in voicing their concerns.

    * Continue working with advocacy groups to pressure legislators to reverse Ford’s overreach in our school.

  • Fight Corruption

    Create guardrails against corruption:

    * Implement guidelines, rules, and procedures to ensure TMSU is being run ethically.

    * Amendments to the election code and bylaws to create a more equitable environment. (Amendments to Election Code 11.5 to not allow disqualified teams AND non-arms-length party associates to participate in the election process).

    * Assist MNP Accounting Firm with their investigation.

    * Dismantle years of Institutionalized corruption.

    * Address election misconduct by previous executives.

    * Address the mismanagement of TMSU funds by previous executives.

    * Work with MNP to release the whistleblower hotline.

    * Ensure these guardrails provide a lasting and permanent solution for the future.

  • Operational Efficiency

    Improve slow response times to students like:

    * Slow reimbursement process

    * Improve the website by keeping it updated with relevant and useful information for students

    Address vacancies for required roles:

    Better funding and infrastructure for student groups:

    * Allow larger budgets for bigger student groups and easier access to grants for smaller student groups.

    * Strengthen budgetary planning for programs & initiatives.

    * Clean up our campus!

  • Transparency
